“Good, pricey for what it was but it was the rugby weekend so we had to pay a premium”

The lift to the carpark was a hassle; I spent half an hour trying to get down before the front desk told me they had to swipe me for security, with no signs indicating this. I had to keep going up and down before I got fed up and asked why the lift wouldn’t take me back down.

Everything was delightful during our Melbourne Marathon stay: the room was clean and neat, the staff attentive and friendly, the pool and spa spotless and quiet. Room service arrived quickly, and the buffet breakfast before we left was small but varied and high quality.

The bed was nice, but I was annoyed that the bar fridge wasn’t free and the “menu” was hidden; everything in the fridge was “paid.” The shower also needed a door.
