There was nothing positive to mention; the spot is terrible and the staff even worse. You’d get better service at a cheap shady hotel. The staff were completely unhelpful, made you feel like you were staying for free, and even told you to check out when you had another day booked.

The vibe of the place is unique and different from everywhere else. Nothing else to add.

I was lured by the online photos that showed a lively, welcoming place full of character, but the reality was a dull, cramped hostel with such poor facilities that it could rival a government shelter. I didn’t like anything about it. The receptionist, Rahul, set a bad tone from the start. When I asked about food, he just said it was chargeable, which is obvious. He didn’t mention that the café is in a different building (Block B), requiring a 100‑metre walk over steep, hilly terrain. Block A itself is about 200 metres down from Mall Road, making every trip exhausting. Rahul also made it clear that no food would be served in Block A; guests have to walk to Block B every time they want something to eat or drink. Basic amenities were equally disappointing. When I asked for drinking water, I was told that while water coolers are available, I would have to buy a bottle or a plastic glass to drink from. Towels are only available on rent, and the list of chargeable items seems endless. Essentially, what you pay covers nothing more than a bed in a small, cramped, poorly ventilated, unpleasant‑smelling room. Ironically, I was also told very categorically that alcohol consumption was strictly prohibited on the premises, yet I found two empty small whisky bottles lying in the room, which hardly inspired confidence in the housekeeping standards. The Wi‑Fi was patchy throughout my stay. Even the balcony furniture reflected the property’s cost‑cutting approach. The stools were so tiny they were barely usable for an adult. When I pointed this out, Rahul casually remarked that they don’t spend extra money because “that’s their business model,” so guests simply have to make do with whatever is provided. Overall, the property feels more like a budget shelter than a hostel that justifies the tariff it charges. The online photos create the impression of a vibrant, comfortable place, but the reality is completely different.
