The owner and cleaning staff were friendly, and overall it was quiet. However, the two door handles that led to our room were never re‑fixed during our stay, and on a few occasions other guests mistakenly took some of our food from the shared fridge.

The location was ideal, right near the city centre in a lovely, quiet area, and we even got free parking. The lounge was nice with a modern sound system, but the renovations were incomplete: I had to ask a neighbour to close the main bedroom window, the small bedroom window wouldn’t open, and the wash‑up area was unusable because the plug didn’t stop the water from running off—plus there was no bowl.

The spot was great, with a comfortable bed and a good ensuite, and the large shared living/dining room opened onto a courtyard. It was quiet at night and close to shops, the Cathedral, and the Abbey. The kitchen was well‑equipped but could use a cleaner touch and fresher tea towels.

This place isn’t a hotel; it’s a shared room in a house with the owners’ stuff still scattered around, a shared lounge, kitchen, and a TV that didn’t work in the room. The fridge was tiny and missing parts, and overall it was a mess. For £175 a night I expected a real 4‑star or 5‑star hotel, so it was a disappointing choice.

The place is in a great spot and the room is big for the price, but I had to chase the owner for entry details and never heard back about parking, which I had asked for when booking and followed up multiple times. There were no towels or bath mat, and the toiletries came with a £10 extra fee that wasn’t obvious. The room didn’t match the listing – the wardrobe was actually a storage space that couldn’t double as a bed, and the house is shared. Everything was unplugged, including a fridge that was closed and smelled bad, and the TV seemed dead because the aerial was missing. The smoke detector was removed from the ceiling, which is unsafe. I’ve never seen so many stains on a carpet, and bathroom fixtures were hanging at odd angles, clearly not well kept. Overall a very disappointing stay that didn’t live up to previous reviews.
