Staying at Aconchego da Lú felt like a family reunion—four generations of locals welcomed us with open arms and plenty of warmth. Lú cooked lunch and dinner every night, and the octopus she caught was hands‑down the best I’ve ever tasted. Matariz is a genuine little village, not a tourist trap, and you can walk or boat to nearby towns; we even got a good deal on a snorkeling tour and a return to Abraão.
