The location was excellent and even a windowless room was comfortable enough for just sleeping; the staff gladly accommodated a check‑in close to midnight, and although the shower was tiny, the water pressure was strong and pleasant. No real drawbacks.
The place was clean and the front desk staff were friendly, but the air‑conditioning didn’t work well, the blanket was too thick and it felt hot.
Being right next to Taipei Station made catching the train or high‑speed rail a breeze, and with department stores, underground malls and plenty of eateries nearby there was no shortage of things to do, while the reception staff were courteous and the lobby offered complimentary coffee and the chance to redeem a glass of wine or an ice‑cream each; the only downsides were the cramped lobby, which is understandable in such a dense area, and the fact that the soundproofing left a bit to be desired.
