“Hotel per famiglie ma non per veri amanti della montagna”
The hotel’s location is excellent and the spa and its facilities are lovely, with a solid Ethernet jack in the room for a travel router and a huge TV, plus beautiful walks around the area. However, it’s really a family‑oriented resort rather than a mountain lodge, and it’s noisy – music blares from the bar from 9 am until 11:30 pm, and because the rooms get hot we have to keep windows open, making sleep impossible. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, but the serving counter is tucked into a corner, creating a confusing flow. The property is clean and well‑run, yet without the spa it would only merit three stars; the rooms are tiny, have limited wardrobe space taken up by other amenities, feature some cheap‑looking finishes, only one side of the bedside has a power outlet, and the USB ports are old‑school rather than modern USB‑C PD.
The housekeeping and services were good, but the value‑for‑money ratio didn’t feel like a four‑star level.
The climate in the area is ideal even in hot summers. The room is fully equipped and fairly spacious. The services, including the spa and breakfast, are excellent, as is the entertainment. The staff are very friendly and ready to help guests.
“Abbiamo soggiornato due giorni in questo hotel e abbiamo trovato un ambiente comodo e accogliente.”
The spot is great for hiking the Monte Matese trails and using the local amenities. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and the rooms were cozy. We stayed in a small but tidy Superior double room with a comfortable bed and decent breakfast. The staff organized outdoor Pic‑Nic activities that we enjoyed. We’ll come back soon. I’d suggest adding towel hooks in the bathroom and more grab bars in the shower. There was no air conditioning in the rooms, so we felt the heat even though the mountain air outside was cool. Breakfast was served and good, but a sandwich option would be nice.
The hotel sits right in the heart of Campitello Matese and the à‑la‑carte dinner was fairly decent, yet it falls short of a true four‑star experience; the waiting staff seemed inexperienced, the breakfast—though plentiful and varied—was of low quality, the evening entertainment blared loud music until 11 pm, the room’s windows were old, small and had non‑blackout curtains, it got sweltering inside with no air‑conditioning (thankfully I had asked for a fan, which was present but wobbly), and the bathroom sink was cramped.
