Nothing good. The reception was awful, there was no front desk, no dining, no bar, no breakfast, no Wi‑Fi, and the TV only worked with YouTube for a one‑hour film that took four hours to watch. The room’s window didn’t lock, the view was visible from outside, every window had a grille and even the entrance door did, payment was demanded upfront, the outdoor area was unsafe (ghetto‑like), and we left after one night even though we had paid for two, with no refund.

We never actually slept in the hotel; we were treated very poorly and ended up staying at the Stefan Hotel instead. The staff didn’t prepare a room for us even though we had a reservation.

“Tromperie extreme”

Nothing I liked, but I was polite. I believe the Majestic used to be a shining example of hospitality in Tamatave, yet now it’s a real disaster and I demand a full refund for the deception. There was no running water, let alone hot water. Internet was non‑existent – to get the code you had to give your phone, but it didn’t work. No TV, only an LCD screen and a Canal+ terminal that wasn’t paid for and didn’t function. No wireless network, so I couldn’t even read the regional newspaper. The place was filthy, with pieces of fencing blocking the vents. The manager was terribly rude, refused my credit card payment, demanded cash only, and wouldn’t issue a proper invoice. When I mentioned the lack of running water, she left two buckets in front of the room door. The walls and ceilings were dirty.
