“Nice stay but overpriced”

The location and facilities are truly amazing, but the service was the worst I've ever seen at a premium hotel. The staff watched us clean a breakfast table instead of helping, only offered us a paid drinks order. The restaurant maitre d' was rude and wouldn't seat us even though a table was free, and the beach bar staff kept forgetting our orders. It’s a beautiful place, but the horrible service ruined it.

Breakfast was included with gluten‑free options, and we could dine outside on the lovely porch. The new, clean room in the main building had a very comfortable king‑size bed. The pool area was just right, and we could cross the street to lounge on the small beach with chairs and umbrellas. We used the facilities before check‑in and after check‑out, making our single night feel longer. Showers, sauna, and steam room were available, and there was a valet service for ferry transport. They hosted a BBQ night on the front lawn, which was quaint and beautiful. Overall, a great experience.

it’s a very nostalgic property on Shelter Island. It is always clean and the staff is super kind. They are from all over the world and really try at all times to make you happy. The one thing I did not like was we were eating dinner last night, which was a Sunday and it was 930 at night and they had shut all the interior lights down. They did not rush our meal that we had on the deck, but you could tell they were ready to go
