“Отель, блуждающий по Мадагаскару”
The low rating is due to a location mix‑up rather than the hotel itself: the bungalows are spread across a large area, and the manager, though helpful, could only offer a small compromise. The bungalows lack windows but have mosquito nets in the openings, and the lighting is weak even when the electricity is on; the reception stays open all day for charging devices. I expected the hotel to be at park du Kirindy Mitea, as the map shows, but it is actually a hundred kilometres away. I needed that park to see the fossa, which is most likely there, and without a car there is nothing to do— the nearest two parks are ten kilometres away. The manager arranged a driver for us twice a day at 80 euros per day. I would never have booked this hotel if I knew its true location and would have avoided flying to Murundava altogether if I hadn’t planned to reach park du Kirindy Mitea. I wasted 260 euros on airfare, 237 euros on accommodation, 230 euros on transfers, 160 euros on the driver, and three days of life, because the nearby parks, which cost an additional 115 euros for entry, showed very few animals. With that money I could have had a great time on Nosy Be and other ocean spots. The manager was aware of the mistake, but the owners (who provided the information) will not refund me. The hotel refuses Visa, even though it says it accepts it, and forces payment in Ariary cash, but the price is only listed in euros at a rate of 4800. I exchanged the Ariary cash at a rate of 4400, losing 9%. They can accept electronic payments, as I saw a machine with the manager. They are monopolistic—there are no other restaurants within 20 kilometres, so eating is expensive and the food is mediocre. Without a car there is nothing to do except sweat in the heat; the main guests are people on route 8 in jeeps who visit two parks 10 kilometres away.
