I made the reservation and the system confirmed it, but when I called no one answered. We arrived at the hostel and it was closed, giving the impression it wasn’t operating. Neighbors in the area said it was under maintenance. They should remove it from listings until it’s back up.

We were exhausted after a long trip and had to take a taxi from the bus terminal, only to find the hostel perched on the top of Ilo, far from the center. Wind and cold blew through, and we spent almost thirty minutes ringing the bell, hoping someone would come, even though our booking was confirmed. No one was at the front desk—tourists on a narrow sidewalk with luggage! We had to walk with all our bags toward the center, and we’re elderly, so taxis didn’t come. Thankfully we found other good hotels in the same center of Ilo at the same price, and that stay was lovely. This particular hostel was terrible—no sign on the door explaining anything.

The cleaning was fine, but there was no breakfast, it was far from the center, and the beds were very old.

There was always cold water, and the staff treated me terribly and charged more than they should; they claimed it was a commission from the app. The service and the extra charges were bad.
