“The most romantic and relaxing getaway.”

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be upgraded to the best cottage/suite for our anniversary. We had the most relaxing and lovely time by the water, taking in the beautiful views of the Oxford coastline. They provided many complimentary snacks, water, and full‑service coffee on demand. The room we stayed in was the Chesapeake suite and it was unreal. Perfect for any romantic occasion or weekend getaway. Nothing else; awesome service and stay.

“We truly enjoyed our stay and will likely visit again!”

I was thrilled to receive a freshly brewed cup of coffee at my door each morning, and the view from room 103 was simply stunning; I also enjoyed relaxing in the Adirondack chairs outside, watching the sunset every evening—perfect for an October birthday. However, the area lacked a variety of restaurants, so we ended up at Docs, the only nearby option, and the food there was decent.

If you want to unwind or spend a weekend alone or with a partner in a quiet, historic waterfront town, this place is a solid recommendation; it offers a peaceful, vintage atmosphere that keeps its heritage alive. We lodged at a hotel established in 1875—according to the landmark plaque, though I’m not entirely sure—and it’s filled with lovely antique décor. From arrival to departure, the staff were warm, kind, and attentive.

“Great Stay for Ironman Maryland”

My wife and I stayed at Sandaway Suites & Beach for Ironman Maryland 2026 and loved our stay! Ben, the owner, was such a lovely host and made our stay extra memorable. The property is gorgeous and at the end of a peninsula in Oxford. The sunset each night was beautiful, and the property has lots of seating so you can enjoy the sunset views. You can also swim from the beach and enjoy the bay. The owners deliver a cute basket of breakfast goodies and fresh coffee every morning. They even had good gluten‑free treats for my wife who is celiac. Also, they incredibly left out a basket post‑Ironman race with snacks and electrolytes, which was an incredibly sweet gesture. The room had a gorgeous view of the water, the bathroom had a great tub for a post‑race soak, and the bed was very comfy. We also enjoyed our morning coffee on our little screened‑in porch. The town of Oxford was also very cute. We enjoyed walking to the local coffee spot in the morning and the ice cream shop after dinner. The Ironman logistics: it is about a 28‑30min drive from Sandaway to Ironman Village. Our room had a microwave and a small fridge for meal prep. There isn't much in terms of groceries in Oxford, but there's plenty in Cambridge. There was only one restaurant open in Oxford in September so dining options were limited but we enjoyed Doc's. Great views, good food, and even options for carb loading and my celiac wife. The rooms are a bit older in terms of style, but it was very quaint and comfortable.
