The location along the river was great, but the food wasn’t particularly fantastic.

The location and the fact that the property is run by the community are positives. The website needs some upkeep, and the worst part was dinner: even though the menu, time, and cooking level of the meat were agreed in advance (and it was clearly stated to specify the exact doneness), the dishes arrived cold and the meat was overcooked (medium/rare was requested). It was a real disappointment that spoiled the evening, so more care should be taken with preparation and service.

The setting is very nice, the boat drive is enjoyable and well organized, and the view of Hippokrates and the crocodiles was stunning with a dreamlike sunset. The lodge is old‑fashioned and used to belong to the white community; now it’s run by locals, which makes the service feel unorganized. Not recommended.

The accommodation was fine, but the food was okay, not exceptional.

The location was beautiful, the food was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The boat ride they arranged was a lot of fun and gave us great access to the hippos. The Wi‑Fi was slow and didn’t work in the tent area.
