My husband was very charming and helpful, and I’d love to return; the hot spring was still natural and flowing, which felt very appealing, and I hope such places stay like that forever, with no issues at all.

This small ryokan is in a great spot in Yudanaka Onsen; the staff were very friendly and we had enjoyable conversations during our stay, which made me very happy; the room was very clean, just the right size for a solo traveler, bright and comfortable, giving me a truly relaxing time.

I loved the atmosphere, it felt like stepping back to the mid‑1900s, and I was looking for a traditional spot to appreciate Japanese life. The owner was very kind and available, clearly lives his whole life in the ryokan. With an older single man it’s hard; he should get help to tidy and clean more.

We stayed with our dog, and the owner greeted us warmly, which was very comforting. The room had a retro feel but was clean, and at checkout, when we were still undecided about where to go sightseeing, the staff kindly suggested Kobuse, leading us to enjoy a delicious Mont Blanc. Their thoughtful care was much appreciated. Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn’t very clean and the water temperature was lukewarm.
