“Excellent and original”

It’s an original and very nice hotel, with extremely friendly hosts. It’s great to have a historic theme and a sustainability goal, though the WiFi wasn’t 100%.

The B&B Royal Swans tops our list of stays. The room was super comfy, breakfast was just amazing, and the location is a 20‑minute walk to the city center with free parking nearby. What really sets it apart are Griet and Maarten – they go out of their way with little touches and great local tips.

This place is a real hidden gem. The apartment is stylish, with vintage furniture and a modern shower. From the moment we arrived, the lovely host welcomed us and handed out plenty of Bruges tips. We even got to taste a homemade cake, and breakfast was deliciously presented. The spot is central, so you can walk around Bruges easily, and there’s free parking just 200 m away. We’ve been to many places, but this one stands out.

The room was gorgeous and spotless, and the breakfast was fantastic – especially the homemade pastries we found on our way back. The place is very eco‑friendly, with no plastic and a strong focus on recycling and food waste. Griet, the host, talks about the city with love and knowledge, encouraging you to discover hidden corners. We highly recommend it, though keep in mind the center is about 1.5‑1.8 km away, so you’ll need to walk a bit.
