The accommodation itself was nothing special, but I must praise staff member Nicolas, who was the only one who responded urgently to our requests and took great care of us—a very pleasant and kind person. From afar it was the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The photos look like they were taken at the opening. The outdoor area is more mud than anything. The dishes and plastic cups were used, even though there’s a shop in town selling dishware for ten reais. When we arrived to use the kitchen the faucet was rotten. The bathroom shower produced almost no water; when we mentioned it was clogged we were ignored. All the sofas were ripped, the kitchen had a Teflon pan peeling off, which is highly toxic. The bathrooms were clogged. In short, if they had told me it was a university dormitory I would have believed it, not to mention the bad smell of the bedding, bath, and the space.
