“Not a 4-star hotel (anymore)”
The spot is great if you want to be near the beach. My room was roomy with plenty of large closets for clothes. Reception staff were kind and helpful when we asked for a late‑night dinner. The rooftop pool offered amazing views, but we only spent 5 minutes there before heading to Barcelona’s city center. The bathroom, however, felt old‑fashioned, had a moldy smell, and a rust‑colored ring around the bathtub drain made it uninviting to sit in. The joint where the bathtub protective door opened was clogged with rusty and white sediment, as were the metal parts under the sink—visible even when sitting on the toilet. What really annoyed us was that housekeeping skipped our room on the first night, even though we had left a “please clean our room” sign while they were still on our floor. On subsequent days, fresh towels were placed but the floor wasn’t cleaned and old towels remained on the floor. I think this could have been a 4‑star hotel 10‑15 years ago, but in 2026 it feels barely a 3‑star, maybe even a 2‑star. I’m glad I got the room at a discount; I would have been very disappointed if I paid the premium price.
