Nicola is a genuinely helpful host, always ready with advice and quick fixes, and my family and I felt very comfortable staying there. However, the windows lack screens, the elevator was only just turned on, and the terrace setup was not ideal.

The location is undeniably inconvenient; getting to and back from the beach takes at least a quarter‑hour. The city centre is lovely, but the property is a minimum of twenty minutes on foot, on a poorly lit and not very safe street for young women. The building is old, the elevator is broken, making it hard to carry luggage. Inside, the spiral stairs are dirty and hazardous. The biggest issue is the missing kitchen: when renting a place I expect one, or at least a clear note in bold in the listing. Privacy is also lacking—there’s only one real bathroom, the service one is shared and doorless; the bathroom blinds and the second bedroom downstairs cannot open because they face another unit, and the hallway is also shared. The terrace is huge compared to the interior but completely bare, with no furniture or lights for evenings. The coffee machine should be replaced with a disposable capsule one, as the current coffee’s age is unknown. Finally, the timings are very inconvenient: check‑in is too late and check‑out too early.

The parking spot in the courtyard is stylishly set up, the new bathroom is beautiful, but the layout is complicated. Unfortunately, we didn’t sleep at all, and the noise was unbearable; windows face the main road, the building is noisy after midnight with drilling. The apartment is oddly designed: one bedroom on the third floor shares a hallway bathroom with no doors, the second bedroom with a lovely bathroom is down the spiral stairs. In practice, you’re constantly bumping into each other on the stairs, and it’s impossible to go down with a suitcase. The first bedroom smelled a bit, with some flying bugs, and my teenage daughter ended up bitten. There’s no glass or spoon for drinks.

The building looks nice and is well furnished. The entrance gate has a light for the evening, but halfway up the stairs it’s pitch dark, and the spiral staircase inside has no lighting, making it dangerous. We were told there was a shared bathroom, but it had no door. The coffee machine’s holder was used, and the open jar of coffee had been sitting for an unknown time—capsules are preferred. Towels were coarse paper, and the bathroom blinds couldn’t be lowered without breaking the screen, so there was no privacy as the balconies belonged to the adjacent property; I even found a pair of shoes on the window one morning. A dog was roaming around the house and would stare from the window—great for me, but it could bother or scare someone else, especially since it wasn’t small. The owner was kind and courteous; he said he’s just starting out, so I hope this review helps him improve, even though the price didn’t match the services.

The apartment is pretty and the welcome was good. Unfortunately, there were no screens, so at night we couldn’t sleep in the upper room because mosquitoes invaded, and we couldn’t close the windows because it was hot and there was no air conditioning, only a simple fan. Also, the bathroom on the landing for the upper room had no door, which was very inconvenient.
