We never got to stay at the place at all; the venue cancelled our booking the night before and the communication became sketchy. They offered us a campsite or another hotel 1.5 hrs away, which we turned down, and then we had to fight for a full refund, a frustrating and difficult process to get our money back.

Nothing. Everything, especially that a reservation paid in advance for six months was cancelled the night before and has not been refunded to this day. Stay away.

We arrived in the evening with a child and were told the property could not accommodate us. The booking had been confirmed and paid. No warning, no call during the day — we found out on arrival, at the end of a driving day, in rural Iceland, with a tired child in the car. What they offered instead was a tent and a property in a completely different location — not comparable to the dome we booked and paid for, and not acceptable with a child at that hour. We spent the evening searching for somewhere to stay. Everything nearby was taken. In the end we booked a hotel in a different area, at a noticeably higher price than our original reservation, and had to drive there late in the evening. That detour cost us the next leg of our route — a part of the trip planned months in advance that we never got back. In the chat the property agreed to reimburse the relocation costs. Then they went silent on 22 August and have not replied to a single message since. More than six weeks later we have received neither the reimbursement nor the refund of the original booking, even though recorded the cancellation as free of charge. Cancellations happen. Leaving a family to sort it out themselves in the evening, promising in writing to cover the costs, and then disappearing is a choice. Book elsewhere.

The dome’s originality and the warm décor were great. The instructions for opening the door were bad, so we spent five minutes drenched in a pounding rain before we could get in… No hot water! The bedding was average, and the price was unreasonable for these inconveniences.

The facilities were fantastic: kettle, fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom with hot water, heating blanket, and a large thermal bottle for every case. We were re‑booked to a different location with a less spectacular view, and the communication was a bit tedious. At night when the stove went out it was around 10 °C, a touch above the outside temperature, and there wasn’t enough firewood. After several calls (initially no one answered) someone finally brought wood and left it at the door, which got very wet in the heavy rain. We didn’t receive any matches and had to chop the wood with a pocket knife.
