I spent a single night here and already wish I’d stayed another; the place is very quiet and pretty.

I spent three nights at Eningu as a solo traveler before heading to Windhoek for work, and it was an absolute treat. The grounds are beautifully designed, the rooms spacious and cozy, and the lodge overall feels warm with fireplaces and a small library. I relaxed by the pool and strolled along the many footpaths around the lodge, spotting animal tracks and birds. For two of the three nights I was the sole guest, so the manager Christian, manager‑in‑training Yuri, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. The food was delicious, especially breakfast which far exceeded my expectations and was included. Christian even arranged a morning trip to visit Dörte Berner’s farm Pepperkol nearby to see her sculptures and art, a genuine highlight that I’m not sure will stay open to visitors for long. I could keep talking—11+/10. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Namibia. The only drawback was the difficulty of reaching the property without my own vehicle; the lodge kindly organized a private transfer from the airport and to Windhoek when I left, which was a bit pricey but understandable. It was still absolutely worth it, just something to keep in mind if you don’t have a car.

We spent our last night before heading to the airport at this lodge, which is a 1 hour drive to the international airport and a 45 minute drive to Windhoek. The clay‑brick architecture and design are rustic, classic, and beautiful, with the lodge built right into the bush. We loved the afternoon tea, the porcupine theme, the fabulous cellar, and the homemade bread rolls with breakfast, still warm! Host Christian was charming and knowledgeable. I would have liked a hairdryer in the room, but otherwise we liked everything.
