We stayed 7 days, attracted by the convenient walk to the city center and the Vatican, which matched expectations, but beyond that nothing was positive. The room quality and service were terrible; the furniture was old, doors had food stains, and the room was dirty at check‑in. Even after cleaning, the bathroom floor was worse, slick with slime and grime. We requested a new room but were denied. On day two my wife had an allergic reaction and we couldn't determine the cause. Before checking out, we moved the bed and found a large mold patch on the wall—unacceptable for a hotel; sanitary inspectors should be sent. Besides the mold (shown in the photo), the bathroom window and shower enclosure were also in poor condition.
