The schnitzels and beer at the restaurant were great, and parking was free on the street; however, the reception was mediocre, there was no cozy atmosphere, the shower cycled cold‑warm‑cold‑warm, the toilet seat broke, the flush didn’t work properly, there was no Wi‑Fi in the room, and the lobby Wi‑Fi was also poor.

The place was cheap, but that’s to be expected; the building is very old, you had to wait a long time to check in, there was no Wi‑Fi, and the internet was terrible.

I was allowed to check in a bit earlier, and due to bus and train conditions I even arrived earlier than announced; the reception still assigned me a room promptly, the beds were very comfortable, the shower was clean, overall a positive stay; the Wi‑Fi did not reach my room, but with a book and a walk through Mengede it was quickly compensated, and a full‑body mirror would have been handy but is not a deal‑breaker.

Location ok,breakfast adequate. Hotel closed on arrival, no tea/coffee in room, hard to find somewhere to eat and get a hot drink, room basic
