Anchorage Weipa

“Aewesome stay exceptional friendly staff.”

The team went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable; the cottage, though a bit faded, was spotless and cozy. The air‑con was already on when we got in, which we appreciated. The fridge broke, but the owner acted quickly and had it replaced, even refunding us for the trouble. We’d gladly recommend this spot, especially the comfy, snug cottage. Thanks to Chrissy, Troy, and Paul for a great stay. The experience was very comfortable and relaxing.

“Very disppointing”

The place was just okay for what it promised—a basic dorm‑style room that was nothing like the description. There was no Wi‑Fi, no balcony, and no in‑room entertainment, despite the listing claiming free Wi‑Fi everywhere.

“Weipa donga”

Nothing special to praise. The single room was a cramped space that smelled of mould as soon as I opened the door. The air‑con was set to 22°C, which felt icy, so I turned it off at night. By morning the smell had dissipated, likely from the AC. I opened a window, but it was full of bugs and grime. In the kettle were insects, so I cleaned it before boiling bottled water (bore water in Weipa). I brought my own mug and tea because the room only had one crockery mug and two coffee sachets. Surprisingly, I slept well, and the single bed was quite comfortable. I slept on top of the bed with a throw rug over me, and the sheets looked dodgy. This was the only option left on short notice in Weipa, costing $160 per night.
