“ging wel”
The clocks beside the hotel made a terrible amount of noise, and there were many wasps outside while we were eating.
“Goed voor snelle overnachting”
A decent parking garage for the motorcycle and a solid restaurant for meals, but the building feels dated and a bit tired even though it’s clean.
“Schöner Aufenthalt für einen Kurztrip mit ein paar Abstrichen”
The staff were super friendly, attentive, and helpful. There was a large beer garden and a very varied menu (German/Gutbürgerlich plus Indian specialties, since the owner is Indian). We could park our two motorcycles for free in the underground parking. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive and left almost no wishes unfulfilled. I personally would have liked whole‑grain bread as an addition to the reheated rolls and the farmer’s bread. The building area where our room was located was very old, and the rooms were very small with little storage. The bathroom practically had no storage, only a small shelf above the sink, which was occupied by two toothbrushes and a box for makeup towels. Across from our building was a sports bar (also part of the hotel complex), and the entrance was relatively loud one evening—the conversations at the table in front of the bar echoed right into our room. It’s inconsistent that the hotel has notices saying bed‑time from 22:00, but the bar across the street (mid‑week at 23:00) doesn’t enforce it and nobody cares. Otherwise the location in the middle of town is very quiet. After a certain hour there is almost no car traffic.
The location was wonderfully beautiful and the host was friendly, even at the restaurant. At night we felt disturbed by other hotel guests, and the constant banging of doors by the workers who were going through the rooms kept us up until deep into the night; everything was very loud.
The overall service was good. The Indian restaurant in the Black Forest was surprising but very good. Nothing particular to note, maybe the furniture was a bit old.
