The toilets were shared, but everything else was superb: the food was great, the staff courteous, and the onsen very good, even though my wife didn’t like the statue there 🙃. The shared bathroom was the only issue, but it didn’t really matter compared to all the other positives.

The breakfast was classic Japanese and very tasty. The room smelled like a mix of air freshener and dampness. When booking, the transfer assistance option was mentioned, yet it was nothing more than taking a taxi or walking. We also couldn’t book dinner; it would be ideal if guests were given reservation times in advance, which wasn’t written anywhere. The onsen urgently needs a renovation; it looked moldy.

Close to the Edo‑era village, the breakfast was hearty and traditional. For four people, two slept on the floor, but at least it’s possible.

The room, the onsen, the staff’s friendliness, the quiet of the place, and the magnificent dinner and breakfast. It’s a bit away from the center, but it’s worth staying here.
