I found the property decent for a budget stay, and the staff were super friendly and helpful, which was a real plus. The location worked well for my need to be near Gare du Nord. The only downside was that everything felt expected for the price, and the management should pay more attention to shower cleanliness—wall tiles were mouldy.

This is a solid choice for budget travelers or anyone wanting to stay near the train stations in Paris. The price is very good and you still get a fairly decent place. The bed was comfortable and clean, the room was basic but tidy and practical, with hot water, Wi‑Fi, a small fan, and a window for fresh air. Halls were well maintained and the hosts were kind. The hotel’s exterior and lobby look run down and the lobby area smells a bit funky. However, once you start climbing the stairs (no elevator) it actually feels cozy, and while the neighborhood isn’t great, it feels fine during the day.

The operators were very nice, the location was right on Gare du Nord, and they offered luggage storage. As many have mentioned, the facilities are older, but it definitely has charm.

The spot’s proximity to Gare du Nord and the low price were great, and the area had plenty of cafés to eat at (the hotel brasserie is closed for renovation, though I didn’t see much evidence of work). The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and having a room at the back of the building kept noise down. The room itself was small and cramped, and a steep step led up to the tiny bathroom, which felt dangerous at night. The room, stairs, and landings were probably clean, but corridor floor tiles were faded and cracked, stair carpets stained, and walls looked like they needed repainting. I knew there was no lift, but be ready for a steep climb up to the second floor with heavy bags.
