The room was lovely with very comfortable beds, and the staff were very helpful; breakfast was fabulous. The hotel is very close to a pub/club with live music that stays open late, and directly opposite a take‑away restaurant that opens until after 1 am. The room would benefit from blackout blinds or curtains because it was extremely bright.

The hotel looked very run down, with thin walls and no experienced night staff to handle issues; the night porter was very unprofessional, and the entire place smelled damp and of stale food. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again.

Situated right in the heart of town, the rooms came equipped with kettles and parking was just around the corner. However, the rooms felt a bit tired, small repairs were needed such as a loose electrical socket, the black carpet on the stairs was mind‑boggling, and my room had a short flight of stairs at the entrance with the light switch located at the bottom rather than by the door.

The staff went above and beyond, making us feel very welcome, and the food was excellent while the room was beautiful. The car parking arrangement isn’t ideal, but they make the best of what’s available, and that was appreciated given the hotel’s town‑centre location.
