The staff were always lovely and friendly in a beautiful village, and the food was excellent. However, there was a lack of comfortable seating for downtime inside or out; the dining room and rooms were lovely, but a sofa or a couple of comfy chairs would have made a big difference.

Everything about this hotel was outstanding: the room was spacious and comfortable, the building itself was beautiful and well equipped, and the food was absolutely glorious. The staff were friendly and attentive, taking care of us wonderfully. I’d recommend it as the ideal place to stay for anyone visiting North Yorkshire, thanks to its good location near towns, countryside, and major car routes. The only downside was having to leave it to go home.
The location was great, the breakfast was cooked, and the soft furnishings and carpets were nice. The floor and bed in our room were not level, so the bed was uncomfortable on the low side, and the buffet breakfast felt a bit corporate with packet cereals and pastries.
