Hot tub and sauna. Cleanliness Customer service. Overall experience

I appreciated the quirky hobbit‑style sheds, yet the lack of a curtain meant anyone could peek into the lodge, the bed was uncomfortably hard, and the Continental breakfast felt rushed and not worth the extra cost. We also missed the hot tub because the location instructions were confusing.

The spot offered great privacy and plenty of kid‑friendly entertainment, with no complaints at all.

The hot tub was a highlight, but the online location was wrong and Google Maps pointed to a house down the road, forcing a 30‑minute walk around someone’s garden. When we arrived, the s’mores kit was left on the side without sticks, so we had to find a local to get them. Paying £10 for a package that should cost no more than £5, we expected it to be fully prepared; instead, the booklet on log burners was useless for a novice, and after no response to our questions, we couldn’t use the sauna because the instructions were unclear. It was a Sunday night, but clearer communication about the facilities would have helped. The pod itself was dirty and unhygienic, making it uncomfortable to settle in. When we tried to grab a drink, the glasses were filthy; the cheap sponge (under 5p) was used and the dish soap looked moldy. The bathroom shelf had mould, and the windowsills and interior walls were grimy—definitely not luxurious. Signal was terrible, which is understandable in a remote area, but the promise of free Wi‑Fi without a password was misleading; a password was actually required, so our phones and TV didn’t work. After trying to make the best of the situation and enjoying the hot tub, we showered to find the water freezing with no signage or info about a heater. The room was unbearably cold even with two duvets.
