The staff were exceptional—when I left a盆 behind they called to see if I’d forgotten it—, the hotel was spotless, parking was straightforward, and breakfast was fantastic, leaving me with nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was decent, but limited in options. The suite for four people had zero closet space, which was a real hassle. The bathroom was cramped with no place to hang towels and no drying racks. The rooms were super humid and the WiFi connection was spotty. Also, no mini-fridge in the room and only tea was offered, which wasn't even replenished. The pool was pretty basic - only a quarter of the area was open for relaxation, the rest was for swimming lessons.

This Holiday Inn is smack in the city centre, which is super convenient - loads of shops and restaurants nearby, and the bus connections to the main attractions are great. That said, my stay was a bit of a letdown; the staff didn't speak a word of English, the cleaning was sloppy, and the room was pretty basic - no fridge, weak air con, and a weirdly laid out bathroom. Breakfast options were limited too.

We stayed here for a bit of a breather in Chengde, and while it wasn't right on the tourist trail, it was still centrally located. The room was huge and breakfast was solid - plus, the staff were really flexible with our early arrival, which was a lifesaver.

Great location, right across from a supermarket, and easy access to the Summer Palace and Puning Temple - just a 6-bus ride away. One thing that would make the bathroom safer for elderly guests is a shower curtain, as the water tends to splash onto the toilet area when showering.
