Everything was perfect, from the setting to the calm, quiet surroundings, and the food was amazing! The staff were kind, thoughtful, polite and professional, and the room was neat, clean and comfortable. Greg’s cheerful attitude in the mornings really brightened our days. I can’t wait to return.

Breakfast was fantastic, and the evening meal was delicious, especially the oysters. Driving to York was straightforward, but parking at Coppergate cost nearly £16. I still visited the stunning York Minster and the Van Gogh exhibit in St. Mary's church, enjoyed wandering around the city, and then returned to Tickled Trout for a great dinner. The bed sloped a bit on one side, but I still slept well.

The property is lovely and full of character. I stayed in the Swale room, which was very comfortable, though a little paint and a tighter toilet seat would improve it. The staff were excellent, helpful, and chatty, and the food was exceptional.

It felt like a slice of heaven in the English countryside. Lydia and Jane were both wonderful and friendly hosts. The rooms were great and the beds comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and tasty.
