The area is beautiful, safe for running, and very peaceful. However, the shower head and water pressure are quite poor, and the river crossing can be extremely dangerous—our car nearly went over the edge.

Farmstead Villas has a stunning piece of God's beautiful land that money can’t buy; the setting is gorgeous, peaceful, and truly special. We also appreciated the warm welcome of delicious sourdough, butter, and eggs, a simple touch that felt inviting upon arrival. The hosting was largely non‑existent, with no assistance with bags until we asked, and communication about the bridge works was poor. Cleaning could have been better, as there were dirty throws, and there was virtually no wardrobe space, making it hard to settle in. The outdoor lighting was concerning given the presence of snakes, and evening walks turned into a military reconnaissance mission rather than a relaxing stroll. The furniture, both inside and outside, wasn’t particularly comfortable or conducive to lounging. Thin walls meant we became quite familiar with our neighbours’ conversations—almost participating in some of them! Overall, it doesn’t feel like good value for money in its current state. The location and natural beauty are exceptional, but the hospitality, comfort, cleanliness, and attention to detail need significant improvement to match the setting and price. We left with lovely memories, beautiful photographs, and a renewed appreciation for our own house—and, most importantly, our own bed.
