The location was great and most staff were friendly—except one waitress in the dining room. The room itself wasn’t clean; the sheets and towels were poor quality, the sheets felt like sandpaper, and the mattress was hard and lumpy. Overall, the place looked shabby and in need of a refresh, with a faded elegance that makes you think of better days—just a bit sad.

I landed in a corner room with a decent view and the spot was great—parking in the attached garage was free or cheap. The design felt a bit dated and needed repairs; the wallpaper in my room was stained and ripped, and there was no water dispenser unless you were a conference guest.

The hotel was a stunning building; we arrived at 8pm, no food was served but a list of restaurants was provided, which was appreciated. We skipped hotel breakfast because we only had a few hours in Staunton and instead walked around town for a morning meal. The carpark was below the hotel and the lift made it easy to bring luggage.

The location was convenient, but there was no coffee in the mornings, so I had to hunt for a nearby café. The town itself was lovely.

The place was safe, secure, clean, and the staff were friendly. However, during festivals when street closures happen, guests should receive clear directions to the parking garage (address) because the physical address via GPS gets blocked.
