The hotel sits nicely and quietly near the beautiful castle park. The rooms are tidy and clean. It’s unclear how to get your key when reception is closed after 9 pm; a sign at reception would help, especially since guests don’t constantly check their emails during arrival.

The countryside setting is lovely and Chemnitz is easily reached by train. The hotel grounds are spacious and well spread out, not cramped. The restaurant is good and the breakfast is tasty. The breakfast room gets crowded during peak times.

Positives: 1. Hotel location 2. Breakfast selection. Negatives: Contrary to the booking information, the restaurant was closed both the first and second evenings. We complained at reception on the first night, where a tempting evening menu was displayed, and there was no break day. The reason given for the closure was a conference. The next day the restaurant remained closed, but this was not mentioned at breakfast; we only learned it when we tried to reserve a table after a long hike.

Schöne Unterkunft. Kein Abendessen im Hotel an unserem Anreisetag, ein Freitag möglich gewesen

We were wowed—very nice, very comfortable beds, and a huge bathroom.
