Nothing, not even the location next to an event hall. A lot of noise and vibration. The staff can’t solve anything. They don’t care about guests, they’re used to having a lot of tourists. Now in September they give the hotel minimal attention, cleaning and maintenance. Not recommended at all.

Location, location, location! Hotel Piedra Escondida sits right on the beach in a small, almost private cove – and we were really wowed from the first moment. The location is simply dreamy! Traveling as a family with two kids, we booked a family room and could choose between two rooms. We opted for the slightly larger room in the main building, directly under the straw roof. There were two large sky beds in the corner, giving a little bit of privacy. Plus a cozy sitting area and a small bathroom. The windows opened to three sides, so we practically had sea view all the time. Absolutely beautiful! The beach is a dream: sunbeds with umbrellas, a beach swing and hammocks – everywhere you can find a cozy spot to relax. Breakfast was fine, typical Mexican‑continental, and additional food could be ordered. We especially liked the flexibility: our older son needs a gluten‑free diet, so every morning he was given enchiladas without any hassle or extra charge. We were really happy about that! Overall it was a very, very great stay. We felt incredibly comfortable from the first to the last moment and would come back anytime. Unfortunately, there is a lot of Sargassum on the beach at this time of year, so we couldn’t swim. That’s not the hotel’s fault. Also a small suggestion: we often sat on the beach and would have liked drinks offered. A small beach shower would be great, so we could refresh ourselves in between, especially when swimming in the sea isn’t possible.
