“Great location and attractive ammenities, but not worth the chaos and overcrowded spaces!”
The hotel sits right next to Kyoto station and a bunch of restaurants, but it’s a busy tourist spot and the staff look swamped with guests. Every day the lobby is packed with people’s luggage, and the staff can’t find my reservation when I check in. I booked rooms for several coworkers and one of them, who arrived after the group, spent almost an hour trying to locate their booking even though I’d confirmed and paid ahead of time. They use a QR code for breakfast, with the last arrival at 9:30 am; I tried scanning at 8:20 am but couldn’t get breakfast two mornings in a row because the line was full. The waiting list only holds four people, and finding a table or standing in line for food is a hassle. At check‑out we left our luggage for an hour, and when we returned they said they couldn’t call a taxi because we’d already checked out and couldn’t link us to a room. The Wi‑Fi was spotty, so I had to use 5G to download a basic email. It’s a big let‑down. There are plenty of Kyoto hotels close to the main station, and while the amenities look good, the overcrowding and overwhelmed staff made the stay stressful, so I wouldn’t choose this hotel again for the price.
