Historic 17th‑century B&B Entro Le Mura sits in a lush garden within Bergamo’s Città Alta, just 100 m from Piazza Vecchia. Renovated medieval interiors offer en‑suite rooms, some overlooking the garden with tables, loungers and table‑tennis. Breakfast is served al fresco by the old well in summer, or in the frescoed lounge with fireplace in winter.

The breakfast was good and the welcome friendly. It was a shame the bedding was not at all comfortable – the mattress rested on a wire mesh support with no base, causing back pain all day. For the price of the night, I expected much better. The bedding was the main issue.

The location in Città Alta is great, near the busy streets, and our room was lovely and quiet with a garden view; everything was spotless, breakfast was good, and Enrica was a wonderful host.

The place is close to the old town and easy to reach, the room was comfy, breakfast was very full, the host was friendly and quick to respond, and the info provided was useful, though the bed felt a bit old.

The spot sits in the heart of the city and is quiet, and you can enjoy an aperitif in the beautiful garden; the only downside, unrelated to the lodging, is the parking—getting a spot in Bergamo is hard, we parked at the city entrance, a covered lot five minutes away, but it costs €50 for a night and a half‑day, which is very pricey.

The atmosphere is great, the breakfast is excellent, but the location is on a steep hill; the trip to the center is short yet tiring.
