The location was stunning, the reception warm, food and drinks excellent, and the room was well equipped, clean, and comfortable; the only downside was that the approach roads were single‑track, which was a minor annoyance but nothing major.

The setting was beautiful, close to Tarr Steps and river walks, the room very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, the bar good, and the restaurant food excellent—would stay again.

The unique setting offered a high‑quality gourmet menu and a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff ensuring all needs were met; Tarr Steps were a minute away, and the gateway to woodland and riverside walks was nearby, plus plenty of hot water to soothe tired legs after a hike—definitely a return visit.

Tarr Farm Inn sits in a somewhat magical spot beside the prehistoric Tarr Steps crossing the beautiful Barle River; the owner and her team keep the place in top shape, and the food is breathtaking for a pub in such a remote area.
