“See above. The whole place needs to snap to attention, and I think a new manager could do the trick.”
Breakfast was okay, the staff were friendly but sloppy in their dress. We were let into our room forty‑five minutes late (though we accepted a free glass of wine for the inconvenience). The desk personnel had no people skills, and the staff in general just didn’t quite understand what was best to do, though no one was rude or uncivil. A maître d’ who sat near where we were waiting grossly overacted his welcoming role to no good effect. The next morning, after a mediocre breakfast, we sat briefly where we’d sat the day before and noticed that nothing had been cleaned; the same scraps were on the floor, and the mat by the restaurant door was covered with stuff. We were told that someone would come and clean all that at 11 AM. What this place needs is a new manager, a clearer understanding of what matters for hotel guests, and better hires in general.
