It was inexpensive (kind of) and well‑located, yet the room felt cramped, almost claustrophobic, and the worst part was the lack of hot water in the shower and no water in the toilet—you had to wash the toilet water with buckets.

The spot was quiet yet right in the center of one of the island’s busiest tourist areas, which is perfect. The only downside was the mosquitoes; the room could use a mosquito net on the bed or a fan aimed at you to keep them away.

The location was great, close to San Juan’s main area, and the property manager was very nice and accommodating. It was hard to find on Google Maps at first, and the place was smaller than expected; I thought there would be two beds as listed.

The spot is ideal, just a short walk from the sea, surrounded by beautiful flowers and exotic birds pecking fruit on the tree beside the house, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. You can rent a motorcycle, and there’s a fruit and vegetable stand on site; hot and cold water dispensers are available. The staff and management are super helpful and friendly, and fresh air circulates all the time. A plug‑in or spray mosquito killer would still be a must. The bathroom is basic—just a bucket of running water to wash yourself. Bring a shower hose and a head, and the problem is solved in 30 seconds.
