“Amazing place in Giza”
Just two blocks from the Sphinx exit, the hotel’s big room had a comfy bed and a nice walk‑in shower, and the breakfast spread—eggs to order, fruit, yoghurt, a large bread basket, croissants, jams, honey, coffee and juice—was more than enough for us. Both nights we were served dinner at no extra cost, which was a pleasant surprise. We paid for airport pickup and the driver was punctual. The rooftop view of the pyramids was breathtaking. We asked the hotel to set up tours, and we shared the same driver, Mahmoud, and guide, Muhhamed, for the Giza Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum (which is indeed grand), and a trip to Saqqara and Dashur pyramids. Muhhamed, holding a master’s degree in archaeology, was a fountain of knowledge. The price was reasonable, cheaper than many online guide services, and it felt like a private guide and driver for the cost of a group tour. The downside is that Giza is a bustling neighborhood with horses, camels and a lot of activity; if you expect resort seclusion this isn’t it, but it’s great for experienced travelers.
