I appreciated that the airport shuttle was waiting for us when we got to the airport, the staff were very friendly, and having a kayak and paddle board available was nice. The bed was comfortable. Some parts of the resort were damaged and needed renovation. The shuttle driver was late on our return, which worried me about getting to the airport on time. On the second day the resort ran out of Coke Zero and there were no other diet options.

The rooms were big and spacious, clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were overall friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed our stay. A few areas could use better customer service. When we checked in, our room wasn’t ready, but we were happy to use the hotel facilities while we waited. After spending a few hours by the pool, I returned to reception and was asked again how they could help. It would have helped if they had taken my phone number or noted that I was waiting, so they could have contacted me. There were also a couple of small issues in the restaurant. When I asked a staff member about the price of the buffet BBQ, she couldn’t tell me. It’s a small thing, but having staff familiar with the menu, pricing and hotel offerings would make a difference. When we first entered the restaurant, we stood around for quite a while without anyone approaching us or explaining where we should go, and our drinks also took some time to arrive. None of these things were major issues individually, but together they made the service feel a little lacking. Having worked in hospitality myself, I know that small details and good communication can make a big difference to the overall guest experience. The hotel itself was nice and the staff were friendly, so with a little more attention to customer service and communication, I think the experience could be much better.

There were plenty of loungers around the pool, something that wasn’t the case at our other accommodation at Sinalei, so that was appreciated. The sheltered bay/beach was lovely, and there were also many loungers on the sand – good variety. Like the rest of Samoa, the food was overpriced and average quality, except for the fish; all other seafood was amazing! The balcony with a sea view was lovely. The spa and gym felt very neglected. There were massive fees to withdraw cash at the ATM in the foyer, as in the rest of Samoa. The rooms were standard.

There was nothing positive at all; it was terrible, and the on‑site room rate was far higher than the online price. First, every staff member—from the front desk to the restaurant—was rude, unprofessional, seemed not to hear me, and never smiled. Second, despite the high room price and the hotel’s proximity to the airport and pier, they charged an expensive shuttle fee, whereas cheaper hotels offered free transfers, making the value extremely poor. To make matters worse, even though I had arranged a pickup in advance, no driver showed up and I had to take a taxi myself. Third, the most infuriating part was that at around 8 am, while I was still in bed, someone simply opened my door.

Location, beach. No one cleaned the loungers in the morning. The big round sunbeds were all ripped and didn’t stay up and looked terrible, 5 men cleaning up the gardens instead of tidying up the loungers. Pool was green. Lack of communication from the staff. Gate broken off towel shed just looked bad. No attempt to fix
