I stayed in a well-equipped apartment that was clean and had a great comic collection, but it was noisy because it sits right on a major street.

The manga selection was great and the bunk beds were a hit. If you value a good night's sleep, steer clear—single‑pane windows made it feel like you were outside. The price was a surprise, with extra fees that weren’t explained. The entry code jammed during our stay, leaving us locked out, and we could only contact staff through a tablet at the building entrance, which was inconvenient if anything went wrong.

The place was spotless, and we appreciated the multiple showers and bathrooms available. We enjoyed reading manga before bed, even though most were in Japanese; some titles we knew and others were new, which was fun. The check‑in via video call felt odd; I hadn’t seen a pre‑check‑in form, and the staff seemed annoyed when I hadn’t filled it out. I had already completed a different, simpler form beforehand. The beds were a bit short for my 5'9"+ friends, so we weren’t sure if they were thinner than standard.

We adored our time at Manga Art Hotel and booked again a few days later. It was perfect for our family of five (kids aged 5, 11, and 12). Bunk beds and décor were highlights, and we parents loved the kitchen setup and the convenient location. The beds were very comfortable, and the huge, spotless space was impressive. The only issues were that on level 5 the Wi‑Fi barely worked, whereas it was great on level 4 during our first stay. Also, there were no coffee cups. Still, if we return to Tokyo, we’ll book again at Manga Hotel—it makes the whole Japanese experience special.
