The staff were lovely and the location fantastic, but the rooms were pricey, the decor tired, and housekeeping only came every two days—my room wasn’t serviced until I asked twice.

The Columba Hotel Inverness boasts a prime location in Inverness' heart, offering tranquil views of the River Ness and Inverness Castle. Its historic exterior encloses bright rooms with satellite TV and tea/coffee facilities. Traditional comfort meets contemporary style within, with free Wi-Fi throughout. John Macnab's Bar & Bistro serves fresh dishes, and al fresco dining on the river-view terrace is available.

The staff were friendly and the spot is nice for walking along the river, yet the hotel is crowded with tour groups that dominate the lobby and the single lift during check‑in/out, so you’ll have to use the stairs. Room 319 should never be offered to guests; the walls were filthy, the bed was sagging, and the pillows were lumpy. The management should be ashamed.

The spot is spot on, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast selection was solid.

It sits in the heart of town, though the building feels old and needs some work, yet the staff were awesome.

The place is close to the city centre, but we ran into trouble with the TV system in our room – we couldn’t get BBC channels, and the reception said the TV was internet‑based and nothing could be done.
