Hikone Castle Resort & Spa

The hotel sits right in front of the castle and is just a short walk from the train station, which I found very convenient. Breakfast offered a wide selection of Japanese dishes that I enjoyed. The bed was comfortable and the room featured a standard Japanese bathroom. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. However, the listing claimed free parking, but I actually paid 500 yen per night for discounted parking, which is reasonable. The hallway temperature was warm because there was no air conditioning.

The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel was not too large, giving a cozy atmosphere that felt comfortable. The bathroom in my room was spacious and clean.

“Nice accommodation, perfect location, nice atmosphere”

The hotel is well‑located and the terrace offers a view of Hikone Castle (my room saw the back). The welcome was very friendly, with a welcome drink, and the breakfast was extensive and tasty. My single room was simple, but that’s all you need.

The drink service right after the large public bath was perfectly placed; enjoying a drink while looking at the illuminated Hikone Castle was extremely satisfying. No particular complaints.

“プチ贅沢な一夜”

The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of tasty items and the staff were very courteous; the illuminated Hikone Castle visible from the front was beautiful, and strolling around the hotel in a yukata felt relaxed and pleasant. The only odd thing was that in the large public bath, which faces the castle, something was floating in the water—I couldn’t tell if that was normal or a problem.
