The staff served matcha nicely, but the seating was just a chair, making it hard to sit comfortably; I wished there were tables.

The bathtub in my room was great—ceramic, cozy, always at the right temperature, so I could bathe whenever I wanted. However, one staff member had a very stiff expression that made me uneasy, as if something was wrong.

Our room featured a semi‑open-air bath and even came with a set for making matcha, which we enjoyed, and the outdoor bath being fed by hot springs was a plus; the restaurant’s side corner also let us sample local sake, and we could drink it back in the room. The large public bath wasn’t very big, and it would have been a bit disappointing if our room hadn’t had its own open‑air bath.

The meals were modest in portion but just right and creatively prepared, making them very tasty. The price of the accommodation felt a bit on the high side.
