The place is quiet, but when dawn comes the passing tuktuks are noisy and a bit annoying. There was no hot water and the water pressure was low.

Without a doubt the best accommodation we stayed at during our trip to Sri Lanka; everything was perfect. The room was huge, very clean and impeccably maintained. The bathroom was also very large and had hot water, which was greatly appreciated. The bed was comfortable and overall the room was spotless. Breakfast was spectacular, all dishes were delicious and plentiful. The owners were charming and extremely attentive; they tried to help with anything you needed, even preparing juices or anything you wanted for breakfast. The location is a bit far, but if you have a motorbike it’s no problem. The owner also offers a tuktuk service to take you or pick you up where you need, for an additional fee. The best part is that he’s always available and very attentive if you need anything or have a problem. A 10/10 stay and definitely the one we recommend most of all the places we tested in Sri Lanka.

“Lovely stay with a lovely host”

The host was incredibly kind and helpful. He picked us up from the train station, brought us to the tea factory and also arranged a taxi to Arugam Bay at a good price. He also gave useful advice on places to visit and food recommendations. The room itself was very beautiful and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a mosquito net. Breakfast was varied and delicious as well. The location is very convenient, just a stone’s throw from Ella Rock, and you can also walk thirty to forty minutes via the train tracks to Ella village. Overall, we would definitely recommend a stay here.

“Parfait !”

The room is very clean, the breakfast is excellent, and the host is adorable and extremely available. The hotel is a bit out of the city, so he came to pick us up when we arrived and offers tuk‑tuk transfers at very good prices any time of day (and anywhere)! The walk to the city center takes about thirty minutes and is beautiful. It’s a few minutes on foot from the start of the Ella’s Rock hike. The hotel is indeed quite far from the center, so you need a few tuk‑tuk rides (for example to return to the city center in the evening).

The price‑for‑value is extremely good! The owner also put in a lot of effort; we were picked up by the house‑owned tuktuk and completely taken care of.
