A nice stopover on the way home, good food, and a really nice local beer. The staff were friendly. The room was a bit old but still fine for one night, and all facilities worked well.

When we got there, the setup worked great – we received a code to unlock the front door and the key to our room was ready even though we arrived early. The surrounding hills are gorgeous, and it’s a good spot if you plan to visit the General de Gaulle memorial. Unfortunately, this was the worst place we stayed this year. The bedroom and bathroom felt cramped, and the hotel sits close to a lorry park. Even though a fan was provided, we had to open the window, and the noise from parked trucks made it hard to sleep. The room lock wouldn’t work from either side, though I’ve heard that’s been fixed now. We asked the locals at the bar about meals, and they told us the restaurant would serve them, but when we tried it we were shown a chalkboard of suggestions, only one item on the list was actually available…later we learned that was the “dish of the day.” The breakfast arrangement was unclear, so I can’t say anything about its quality.
