“Personal maleducado. Lugar mitico”

The place, exceptional. Surrounded by mountains of extraordinary beauty. Despite the lady who greets you being very kind, the young staff, especially a blond boy, is absolutely unpleasant. Disagreeable and incorrect. We will not return. And that was our second stay at this refuge. At 112€ for the bed + 20€ for a modest dinner, they could at least open the second shared bathroom per floor for all guests who are on any floor. The wait to use the bathroom in the morning is long and the blond boy refuses to open the second bathroom.

“La realizzazione di un sogno!!!”

Buffet breakfast rich and abundant, both sweet and savory. Everything was fine for a Mountain Refuge that resembled a Hotel, I’m used to more “spartan” accommodations, friendly and super helpful staff, and then: fresh air, silence and a charming view!!! The breakfast was too abundant and made me out of breath on the next hike, so there was nothing I didn’t like. Great!

Very clean and welcoming structure. Food is very good and excellent selection of wines and glasses. Stunning location, absolute silence around. You have to be used to a shared bathroom. Not so much about the bathroom itself, which is very clean, but about sharing it with other people and their sometimes nighttime schedules and the resulting door noise.

Beautiful property set in a lovely valley. Simple but beautiful and comfortable. Good food and excellent draft beer. Good selection of wines, though a bit expensive.

“Beautifully refinished Alpine Hut and Stellar Staff!”

A refurbished hut in the heart of the Catináccio group with spectacular views, but it was the staff that really stood out. While hiking from another Rifugio, my partner’s boot started tearing, making it unusable. We were only about 1km from Stella Alpina when that happened. My friend explained the situation to Matias, who I think leads the Search and Rescue team there. After a quick talk, Matias—who was just finishing work—driven my friend to a sports shop in Val dÍ Fassa where he bought new boots, caught the tram back up to Rif. Cámpiede, and then hiked back to Rif. Stella Alpina, all within about 2 hours. That helpful spirit and service were amazing and mirrored what we found at all the mountain huts. A great experience with Mountain People—thanks!
