The room felt freshly renovated and clean, yet the water was out for the first 24 hours while tradesmen worked on other rooms and the roof, and they needed to enter our room to run cables—no warning from the hotel. We were given a complimentary drink after we complained, but the rate seemed too high.
“Good”
The location was great and it offered good value for money, but overall the rooms need some TLC.
Everyone on the staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel was reasonably clean and priced. The rooms look tired and the hotel plans to renovate them, which is good, but there's a lot of noise coming through the walls.
“Absolutely ideal for our stay. Glad we got to stay in the newly renovated room. Staff could not have”
The room was newly renovated, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the bistro food was great. We didn’t dislike anything outright, but there were a few issues: builders’ dust and tape on the bathroom mirror suggested the renovation finished the morning we arrived; the new bed on casters rolled away when we sat up, so castor cups would help; the bathroom had no shelf for toiletries; the new door might swell from shower water and condensation—cheap shower wall lining could stop that; we’d appreciate a spot for the electric jug near a power point, maybe a shelf over the bar fridge and a fixed power board instead of an extension cord on the floor. We only stayed overnight, so the room was designed for that; rooms 1 and 2 only have a bed and a bathroom. If you can choose, book room 1 for the covered outdoor area overlooking the carpark. Room 2 lacks an outdoor area and faces a wall just one metre across a common walkway, which could feel claustrophobic for some. Rooms 3 to 8 are double‑sized, still under renovation, so the final layout is unclear, but they likely have a small lounge/dining area (maybe a sofa‑bed?). All rooms have an outdoor area.

I couldn't find a good spot to stay; the place felt old and not very clean.
