“Niet schoon en niet vriendelijk”

I was greeted with a cold vibe right from the start, and the staff didn’t even offer a way to give feedback. When we arrived, the place felt unwelcoming, and the breakfast that was supposed to be included turned into a question: “no breakfast wanted?” We’d preferred it at 10 am, but they told us we had to leave by 11 :30. The room was dusty and full of cobwebs, clearly not cleaned in a while. The next morning, the breakfast was sparse, the coffee milk tasted sour, and when we mentioned it, the lady just tolerated us without any discussion, refusing to let us speak. At exactly 11 :00, she entered our space again and it was a total discomfort. There were hidden cameras everywhere outside, and a sensor in our room flashed all night. I tried turning on the heater, but was told it wasn’t allowed, and I couldn’t control the AC myself. Overall, a disappointing experience that I’d warn future guests about; the price‑to‑quality ratio is far from satisfactory.

The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The owner was very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. The area was quiet.

Aurelia, the host, is a charming woman who let me check‑in at midnight and took the time to explain the entire apartment. The cleanliness was superb, with fresh sheets and towels. The kitchen is functional, lacking an oven but sufficient for a stay, and there’s a supermarket five minutes away. Dorsptraat offers mainly restaurants, so I moved daily to the Eindhoven station from the stop two minutes from the accommodation.

“Gemiste kansen.”

The space itself is large and roomy. However, there were some issues: a used washcloth was left in the bathroom, along with two large bath towels, two small towels, and two washcloths—quite sparse for four days with two people, though we did receive two more. With the high temperatures, you’d expect more. At arrival, it was clearly stated that the AC could stay on, even while we were away due to health issues, and the outside temperature was 38 °C, yet it was turned off again, forcing us to ask. The fridge where we stored our items was off; in that heat it took a long time to cool. Overall, a disappointing stay, though we did receive a small glass jar from the lady at departure. There were missed opportunities; we’re environmentally conscious, but at 38 °C you want to shower more and have something cold to drink. We travel a lot, but I won’t return.

“Central to the small village of Veldhoven. Bus stop 19 100m from front door taking you to/from Eindh”

Located in the town centre, this unique loft above an art gallery offered a very special stay. The external staircase led to a balcony area. It was very well priced and surpassed our expectations. Our host Aurelia was outstanding, very helpful with local tips, and assisted us with lost bags and translations.
